Thesis

thesisworkflow
We offer a wide range of thesis topics for both Bachleor's and Master's degrees, including both applied and theoretical topics in combinatorical optimisation for students from mathematics, computer science and adjacent fields. Any thesis offered will require at least knowledge of Combinatorial Optimisation or comparable lectures. Furthermore, for Master's thesis students should have taken at least one advanced lecture. We recommend that this includes at least one lecture offered by our chair.

There is no fixed list of topics. Instead, thesis topics are offered based on current research and student interest and background.

If you are interested in writing a thesis at our group, please contact Prof. Christina Büsing directly. Your mail should contain information on when you want to write your thesis, which courses you have taken in discrete optimisation so far (and at the moment, if relevant). Furthermore, please indicate if you have any preference regarding the topic or type of work. Note that due to the fact that we recieve many requests from students, an answer may take some time.

Finally, if you are unsure whether you should do your thesis at our group, we recommend you take a seminar first. Frequently, this gives students a good idea of we expect from you and what you can expect from us.
